New York Entertainment Movement Inc was formed in 2003 fulfilling a lifelong dream of the President Wayne A Gordon, popularly know as John Wayne. Wayne Gordon is the son of Manchester, but his promotion days started in the early 90's when he migrated to Jones Town with the popular “No Retreat, No Surrender Promotions” with Stone Love and Metro Media. There he earned the respect from Father Wee Pow and Skyjuice. Since 2003 New York Entertainment Movement Inc has promoted events in the United States and Jamaica featuring sounds like Stone Love, Daddy Axe Movement, Young Hawk, Skyjuice, Black Kat, Bass Odessy, Super Barry plus many more. In 2005, under the influence of Chuck Fender, Richie Spice and Kip Rich, New York Entertainment Movement Inc launched a subsidiary company New York Entertainment Movement Record,. The first recording project is the Controversy Rhythm voicing nineteen artists which include Natty King, Richie Spice, Anthony B, Levardes, Luciano, Higher Boukie, Chuck Fender, Fanton Mojah, Jah Mason, Sexy Pebbles, Turbulance, Homa Heights, Mark Wonder, Natural Blacks, Hero, Junior Reid, Mr. Perfect, Utan Green and Sizzla. Joined by his wife Lorna Channer-Gordon in 2006, she brings to the team 14 years of marketing experience. She garnered her experience working with companies in Jamaica such as Courts, Jamaica Observer, Jamaica Lottery and Jamaica Cultural Development Commission. Together they offer hands on experience to their clients.


New York Entertainment’s Controversy rhythm is hot in the streets. The singles, being distributed by In the Streets Distribution, are now officially available in stores across Jamaica, the United States, Japan, Africa and Europe. New York Entertainment Movement Records is a New York base subsidiary company, from the New York Entertainment Movement Inc. Owned and operated by executive producer Wayne “John Wayne” Gordon and his wife Lorna Channer-Gordon. John Wayne started his career with the promotion “No Retreat, No Surrender” in the early 90’s and is regarded as very astute in his promotions. This is the first project of many to come. This set of singles is getting heavy airplay and is making quite an impact across the world. Jah Mason is currently getting heavy request for his song ‘Most High’ on his European tour. The rhythm is one-drop and features a strong line up of artistes such as Sizzla – ‘Unity Is Strength’, ‘Long Run’– Luciano, ‘Gang Warfare’- Richie Spice, ‘Take It with A Smile’ - Chuck Fenda, ‘Controversy’– Natty King, ‘Bosie Slave’ - Natural Blacks, ‘Wonder and Sign’ - Hero, ‘Determine’ –Uton Green, ‘Most High’– Jah Mason, ‘Only You’- Junior Reid, ‘No Love’– Fantan Mojah, ‘Some One To Love’ - Anthony B, ‘Muss Buss’ – Homa Heights, ‘Don’t Come Home’ – Hyabukie, ‘Time Getting Red’ - Mr. Perfect, ‘When You Smile’ – Mark Wonder, ‘Higher Trod’ – Turbulance, ‘Live As One’ – Levardis, and ‘Gun Clown’ – Sexy Pebbles. The label is currently developing and is working on expanding over years with the hopes of working with new and young talents, along with the experience ones. New York Entertainment has successfully over the years staged different events both in New York and Jamaica working with Stone Love, Metro Media, Bass Odyssey, Young Hawk, Top Secret, Black Kat plus many others, with the most recent, a family fun day and stage show, on April 1, 2006 in Comfort Manchester.
